If you ever look at my website you may have noticed this recently added photo of a strangely alluring woman holding a mirror to her face. You may be asking yourself, "Who is that woman?" Is she famous? What does she do?" Well, that woman is a musician named Natalie LeBrecht who goes by the name Greenpot Bluepot. Her upcoming release, "Ascend At The Dead End" is probably quite unlike most music you've listened to in the past, I dunno, maybe a generation? Maybe never. A young acolyte of the legendary minimalist composer La Monte Young, it remains unclear who best to compare her to. Yoko isn't quite right, not catchy enough. Her music is strange, diaphanous and esoteric but also poppy and uptempo, almost danceable. I'm avoiding using words like avant-garde and experimental since they make the music sound difficult, which it isn't. In any case it's great. What's also great is this video for "Melting Sword" made by Brett Milspaw. Once again, my good friend who tends to make some of my favorite work.
